Guided Diversity Planning: 9 Steps to Deliver on Your Pledge

In 2021, many companies made public pledges to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion within their organizations. Now it’s time to deliver on the promise. Advancement towards a more equitable company requires intentionality at each stage of the employee lifecycle--how you attract, retain, and include employees all factor into this.

The reality is that you can’t just hire your way to your diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals. At the current rate, a Visier study found that it could take more than 25 years to close the pay gap between underrepresented groups and their majority counterparts, and Black employees, in particular, won’t reach pay parity with white employees for 78 years. Companies need access to data about their people to understand where their organization stands in terms of DEI so that they can take action to monitor—and improve—their progress.
